Lindsey's Commitment to You

I’m running for City Council because San Marcos is my home. It’s where I’m raising my kids and where I plan to stay. This is where we’re building our lives, so the quality of life here truly matters to me. Growing up in a law enforcement family has shaped how I think about public safety. It’s not just a campaign slogan, but it’s something we all deserve to feel when we’re out and about. We’re not on edge. We’re comfortable. And our kids should feel that same sense of safety too, especially when they’re getting to school, parks, activities, or a job. I want to protect that peace of mind, help us stay connected, support safe and reliable youth transportation, and keep a local economy that works for families and our businesses. It’s about taking care of the community we all share.

Local Opportunity & Affordability

Local opportunity and affordability mean making sure San Marcos is a place where we can stay and succeed, not just pass through. As a proud alum of California State University San Marcos, I want the same opportunities I’ve had for today’s graduates: the chance to build a career here, put down roots here, and grow a life here. Opportunity shouldn’t require a commute, which is why I support growing local jobs and businesses and working with our local innovation hub to keep talent and ideas here in San Marcos. Affordability matters too. People who work in our community and families who want to build their future here should have a real shot at living here. That means planning for diverse housing options that support our workforce and keep San Marcos a place to build a future.

Safe Neighborhoods & Peace of Mind

Safe neighborhoods are about more than statistics, they’re about peace of mind. It’s about how we feel when we’re out and about in San Marcos: comfortable, confident, and knowing help is there when we need it. Coming from a law enforcement family and working closely with first responders, I understand that safety starts with trust, preparation, and strong partnerships. I support smart, proactive approaches that keep neighborhoods safe, help kids feel secure getting to school and our parks, and ensure our first responders have the resources they need. When we feel safe, we can focus on our families, our businesses, and our daily lives, and that peace of mind is essential to our quality of life here in San Marcos.

Smart Government

Our local government should work efficiently and stay focused on the basics. It should respect our time, our money, and our trust. We need the right infrastructure in place so families, students, seniors, and small businesses can get through their day with fewer obstacles and more predictability. I want to see a San Marcos where we can move around safely, stay connected to our community, access opportunities close to home, and trust that the city is planning responsibly. My focus is on clear communication, smart long-term decisions, and careful use of resources so everyone who wants to call San Marcos home has a fair shot at building a life here.

Connected Community

Feeling connected matters because it’s how a city starts to feel like home. I want us to have more chances to know our neighbors, to spend time together, and feel comfortable showing up and being part of our community. That kind of connection helps us feel supported and grounded. My focus is on making those moments easier to come by, whether that’s through community parks, local events, or opportunities to participate and give back. When people feel connected, that sense of home spreads and our community is better for it.
